Cracks in the Ice

As a function of temperature and of time, ice melts. And, as ice melts, it cracks. These cracks happen all throughout the frozen water, forming as various parts of the hunk of ice begin to re-liquify while others remain solid. I'm in love with the abstract lines and textures that formed inside my miniaturized glacier, and the way they changed and shifted as it melted.

Almost like smoke the melting ice forms abstractions of various tones and textures.

Queen of the Winter Court

What shapes do you see when you look into the ice? Is it all just lines and bubbles? Geometric forms? Or can you catch a glimpse of other worlds? Realms where fairies fly on wings of ice and glass.

Organically Inorganic

There's something wholly beautiful, if slightly unnerving, about the way frozen water takes shape. Lines of ice, air, and liquid water curve and bend in and out of focus, weaving between darkness of light. But the more the frame expands, the more organic these abstract shapes begin to look.

Locked in Place

A series of larger bubbles trapped within the ice. The sit, frozen in place, surrounded by cracked ice which looks not-to-dissimilar from spider webs.
